UI/UX project
Designing a conversion-focused
mobile UI for an airlines
booking system
The Problem
To design a mobile-optimized & conversion-focused page
for selecting additional services for a flight
There were 3 core features & few requirements to be ensured for the page-
1. Buying travel insurance
Business need: additional sales through insurances
• The insurance costs EUR 15 / person and is valid during the trip selected
• The Terms and Conditions include two A4 pages
• The insurance must be linked with a specific traveller
• For travellers at the age 65+ the cost of the insurance is EUR 25
• One child under the age of 12 will be included in the adult’s insurance
2. Buying meals
Business need: additional sales through meals
• Free coffee, tea and juice
• Meals cost EUR 8,9
• Meals are sold separately for one-way and return tickets
• The meal must be linked with a specific traveller
• There is detailed nutritional information as well as photos for each meal
• During intercontinental flights the meals are chargeable in connecting flights but included in the intercontinental leg.
3. Buying baggage
Business need: inevitable cost
• Only carry-on baggage is included in the selected travel class
• The traveller may buy additional 1-3 checked baggages for EUR 60 per baggage per way
• The baggage must be linked with a specific traveller
• For intercontinental, connecting flights the baggage is bought automatically for the all of the flights

TESTIMONIAL

"Abrar was one of the students in my User Experience course in the Aalto University ITP program in 2019. The topics covered included timeless principles of usability, usability testing, UX design, and prototyping. He was an active participant during classes and did an excellent job with his individual product design assignment, earning him the grade 5/5. I believe he would make a great addition to your product team."
