XYZ Widget Company (name changed) is a large Finnish IT company founded in 20th century. They have over 300 employees and they are specialized in IT-solutions.

The configuration tool is a web application created by XYZ Widget Company where customers’ clients can browse and configure products and accessories. The user can add products to a shopping cart and request for a quotation and support from sales persons. The products can be either static or configurable. A rule engine is used to help the user with the configuration by locking invalid option combinations.

XYZ Widget Company needed to refactor their configuration tool to meet the current standards using the recommended web technologies, development tools and support for mobile devices.
